PARIS: Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, affirmed that the UAE’s participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics marks the first step towards achieving the goals of the National Sports Strategy 2031, which aims to qualify over 30 athletes for the Olympic Games by focusing on talent development and logging success stories for the UAE.
He highlighted the importance of providing necessary support for elite athletes and sports federations, as well as school sports.
‘The athletes representing the UAE in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games are exemplary ambassadors for their nation, whether in terms of competing honourably at the highest levels with their peers from around the world or presenting a commendable image of Emirati youth embodying the Olympic spirit of peace and coexistence,’ the minister explained.
Dr. Al Falasi noted that the UAE delegation has the ambition and passion to achieve the Olympic dream by securing the UAE’s third Olympic gold medal. He affirmed that every Emirati Olympian is com
mitted to delivering outstanding performances and achieving the best results, reflecting the growth of the country’s sports sector and enhancing its presence on the global sports map.
