Palestine reconstruction committee brings materials into Gaza to empty Sheikh Radwan pond


The Higher Committee for Reconstruction in Palestine has started implementing the Sheikh Radwan pond emptying project in Gaza by repairing the pumping lines connecting the Sheikh’s pond to the Gaza shore.

In a statement on Monday, the head of the committee, President of the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) Ahmad Samara Al Zoubi, announced the success of efforts to bring the materials needed to empty the pond into Gaza in order to start implementing the project as soon as possible.

Al Zoubi said that the committee, which includes the JEA and the Jordanian Construction Contractors Association (JCCA), started the emptying process in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority and in coordination with the Egyptian authorities, to supply 700-meter-long HDPE pipes, to repair the pumping lines from Sheikh Radwan Pool to the sea to empty it during the winter season, and to prevent flooding in the surrounding area.

He added that the project is funded by the Higher Committee for Reconstruction in Palestine i
n Jordan, in an effort to alleviate the suffering of citizens in Gaza City.

He pointed out that the committee strives with all its staff working in the field to raise the necessary needs of donors and funders to implement important, strategic and vital projects that help citizens in the Gaza Strip overcome the difficulties and adversities in light of the ongoing war and to alleviate their suffering.

The Higher Committee for Reconstruction in Palestine implemented infrastructure and sanitation projects during the ongoing war, such as the repair of the Makarot Bani Suhaila line in Khan Younis and many other projects.
