Oil Prices Decline About 1% With Anticipation Of A Meeting Of US Bank Governors

Oil prices fell today, Wednesday, by more than 1%, due to the lack of clarity in global manufacturing data, which awaits the results of the annual meeting of US bank governors.

The price of Brent crude fell by $1.01, or by 1.2 %, to reach the level of $83.02 a barrel, and the price of West Texas Intermediate crude fell by 98 cents, or by 1.2 %, to $78.66, just as the prices of the two benchmarks fell by more than a dollar earlier in the session.

Yesterday, crude oil inventories in the United States continued to decline, according to data from the American Petroleum Institute, and amounted to 2.4 million barrels in the week ending on August 18. The weekly report of the Energy Information Administration, the statistical arm of the US Department of Energy, is scheduled to be issued at a later time.
