Egyptian women have got unprecedented rights under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, said Moshira Khattab, President of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR).
Khattab’s remarks came on Saturday 29/07/2023 at her speech after Egypt was handed over the regular presidency of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions during the convocation of the Network’s Conference and its 20th General Assembly in Cairo.
The Network’s Conference is held in a very important timing, as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 30th anniversary of the launch of the Paris Principles on human rights and the 10th anniversary of Sisi’s presidency, she reiterated.
She added that Sisi has launched the first national strategy on human rights and has contributed to making important achievements in human rights-related domains.
The Conference and the Network’s 20th General Assembly kicked off in Cairo Saturday in cooperation with the National Council for Human Rights.
Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhi participated in the conference.
The two-day conference is an important opportunity for probing the best practices, lessons and the most important challenges facing the National Human Rights Institutions to determine priorities and needs.
The event is also aiming to boost the role of the networks and international and regional organizations in promoting National Human Rights Institutions.
