Nationwide temperature rise expected in Egypt starting Tuesday

Temperatures in Egypt are expected to rise gradually starting Tuesday, with a nationwide increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

The EMA forecasts light fog in the morning on some agricultural and major roads near water bodies, along with moderate winds that may occasionally pick up.

Temperatures in Cairo and Lower Egypt are expected to rise to 37°C, while South Sinai could see daytime temperatures as high as 41°C.

On the North Coast, cooler temperatures of around 32°C are expected.

In Northern Upper Egypt, daytime highs will reach 40°C, whereas Southern Upper Egypt will remain hot throughout the week, with temperatures reaching 44°C.

These high temperatures, which have affected much of the country in recent weeks, underscore a troubling trend of increasing heatwaves in the region as global temperatures continue to rise.

Experts attribute this to global climate change and local environmental factors, leading to record-breaking heat.

They also caution t
hat these extreme heat events could become more frequent and severe.

The EMA has advised citizens to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
