CAIRO: The Muslim Council of Elders, under the leadership of His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, has issued a strong condemnation of recent violent attacks in the United States. These attacks include a car-ramming incident in New Orleans and an explosion outside a hotel in Las Vegas, both resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council has expressed its unequivocal disapproval of all forms of violence and terrorism targeting innocent lives. The Council emphasized that such violent acts are in direct opposition to the compassionate teachings of Islam, as well as to the principles upheld by all sacred laws and international conventions. It has urged for a united effort to combat hatred, violence, and intolerance globally, advocating for the promotion of dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
The Muslim Council of Elders has also conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the United States government, its citizens, and the families of the victims affected by these tragic events. The Council has extended prayers for the swift recovery of those injured in the incidents.
