Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, Higher Committee of Human Fraternity to strengthen humanitarian initiatives


Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities and the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of training and education.

The agreement aims to adopt initiatives that support their shared objectives of serving both local and international communities and assist the country’s efforts in promoting the values of human fraternity, moderation, and tolerance through their respective areas of work and activities.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Rashed Al Hameli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities. It was signed by Dr. Khalid Ghanim Al Ghaith, Secretary-General of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, and Ahmed Saleh Al Humairi, Vice Chancellor of the University for Development and Investment.

The parties affirmed that the MoU will open up broader horizons for cooperation and community partnership, which the two seek to adopt as part of their eff
orts to boost collaboration across all segments of society, especially amongst the youth.

The terms of the MoU include promoting the values ??and principles of the Document on Human Fraternity; providing support and assistance to the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity in engaging with educational institutions locally, regionally, and internationally; strengthening human relations; and organising joint activities and events at local, regional, and international levels.

The MoU also outlines the exchange of information between the two parties regarding their educational programmes and relevant training activities, encouraging those interested to participate in their training programmes.

The agreement also promotes the exchange of trainers and speakers at conferences, in addition to developing an action plan to implement the terms of the MoU and strengthening mechanisms for evaluating, reviewing, and improving its outcomes. Furthermore, the partnership also calls for sharing periodic reports on their achiev
ements towards shared goals and programmes.

Dr. Al Hameli said that the MoU aligns with the wise leadership’s directives to uphold the values ??of human fraternity. It also enhances the plans and programmes adopted by the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, which are the result of the UAE’s efforts to lay the groundwork for the country’s principles and approach concerning human fraternity.

He stressed that the university, in cooperation with its local and international partners, is working to adopt initiatives that promote human fraternity and solidify its position among societies as a safeguard for living in peace, love and brotherhood. He also noted that the MoU with the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity falls within this framework, and the university will spare no effort in achieving its lofty goals and objectives.

For his part, Dr. Al Ghaith said that implementing initiatives that serve the community, particularly the youth, and promoting the principles of the Document on Human Fraternity, while e
xpanding community engagement at local, regional, and international levels, is crucial to advancing the spread of the culture of human fraternity.
