Ministry of Health explores cooperation with Irish Ministry of Health

DUBAI, Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), has discussed cooperation with Stephen Donnelly, Irish Minister of Health, exchanged expertise in the field of health and opened up horizons to achieve common health goals and improve services.

Held at the ministry’s headquarters in Dubai in conjunction with the Health and Wellness Week, the meeting was attended by Robert Watt, Secretary-General at Ireland’s Department of Health, and several senior Emirati health officials.

Al Owais lauded the UAE’s strong relations with Ireland across several vital areas. He stressed that the cooperation between the UAE’s Ministry of Health and its Irish counterpart will continue to flourish and cover greater health areas, thanks to the promising opportunities available for joint work, and the desire of both sides to benefit from each other’s expertise in health information systems and digital technology.

The minister emphasised that the ministry pays utmost attention to responding proactively to all challenges, attracting the latest health technology solutions and enhancing the health sector’s capabilities.

Al Owais stressed that the UAE is among the best countries in the world in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to the vision of the country’s leadership, which provided support and capabilities to enhance the health system’s efficiency.

“The UAE is doing everything possible to play a pivotal, effective and influential role in supporting international efforts being made to confront the pandemic and realise the sustainable development goals including the healthcare ones,” the minister added.
