Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad Soha Gendi received the new Egyptian Consul in Melbourne, Australia, Ambassador Haitham Mukhtar to discuss ways of cooperation and joint coordination to serve the Egyptian community in Australia. Assistant Minister of Immigration for Communities Affairs Ambassador Amr Abbas and Head of the Administration Professor Doaa Qadri attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Minister Soha Gendi was keen to inform the new Egyptian Consul in Australia of the Ministry’s efforts for Egyptians abroad. The minister discussed means to provide Egyptians abroad with several incentives and benefits, most notably the relaunch of the ‘Cars for Egyptians Abroad’ initiative for the third time after the approval of President Abel Fattah El Sisi. The steps will be taken in cooperation with the relevant authorities, so every Egyptian abroad can benefit from the law.
The Minister of Immigration also pointed to cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt to provide faciliti
es to Egyptians abroad through various savings channels by issuing dollar investment certificates with a high return that is considered the highest in the world.
