Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ayman Ashour received Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources of China Mr. Sun Shuxian and his accompanying delegation. The meeting is attended by Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs Dr. Yasser Refaat , President of the National Institute of Marine Sciences Dr. Amr Hamouda, Deputy Secretary of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes and Bodies Dr. Walid Al-Zawawi and Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Technical and Technological Education Affairs Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabbagh.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Ayman Ashour welcomed the Chinese delegation, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education and scientific research, and expressing the Ministry’s readiness to provide all the necessary facilities for the success of this cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of topics related to coope
ration in the field of higher education and scientific research, including support for the China-Africa Center for Marine Science and the Blue Economy, which was opened in 2023 and is hosted by the National Institute of Marine Science and Fisheries. The two sides aim at implementing the United Nations programs for the 2030 agenda of the Oceans to protect the marine environment and develop marine resources to advance the blue economy in Egypt and African countries.
