Al-Amara – Maysan police thwarted an assassination attempt planned by criminals targeting a tribal sheikh in the governorate, and arrested its perpetrator.”
The Maysan Police Command said in a statement that the accused confessed during his interrogation to carrying out (6) other assassinations in past periods of time due to previous tribal motives and problems.”
The command added: “The accused’s statements were judicially ratified and he was arrested in accordance with the provisions of Article (4/1) of the Anti-Terrorism Law.”
