Libya welcomes the AU’s permanent membership in the G20.

Libya welcomed the African Union’s permanent membership in the G20 during the group’s summit held yesterday in the Indian capital, New Delhi.

The GNU-Foreign Ministry, in a statement, described the AU’s acquisition of permanent membership in the G20 as an important step that will allow the AU to effectively and fully express the aspirations of the African peoples, contribute to dealing with international challenges and concerns, and present Africa’s vision derived from its unified positions and its commitment to build a fair and stable world.

“The achievement of this continental achievement through the actual presence in this international bloc coincides with the anniversary of the announcement of the founding of the AU in Sirte on 9/9/1999, where the common desire emerged and the African political administration emphasized the centrality of the status of the African continent, which we are working hard to strengthen,” the Ministry added.
