Kuwaiti swimming champion Lara Dashti ranks 5th in preliminary heats


Kuwaiti swimming Champion Lara Dashti scored a new record on Sunday in the 100-meter breaststroke, ranking fifth at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Dashti recorded a time of 1:15:67 minutes in the preliminary heats of 100-meter breaststroke, setting a new record with this result. The swimming event was held at the Olympic pool “La Defense Arena” in Paris, France. This marks Dashti’s second participation in the Olympics, following her debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games. Kuwait’s National Team coach Ayman Al-Enezi confirmed that Dashti and swimmer Mohammad Al-Zubair’s preparations were carried out according to pre-determined plans through training camps and intensive sessions. He further stated that competing in the Olympics is a great honor and dream for athletes from around the world, praising both Dashti and Al-Zubair’s efforts and dedication.

Kuwait is participating for the 14th time in the Summer Olympic Games, with a delegation of 9 athletes competing in six sports: shooting, fencing, swimming, athletics, rowing, an
d sailing.
