Kuwait follows up of developments in Iran and Lebanon and denies allegations of “using its lands as a launching pad to target the neighboring countries


Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya confirmed his country’s follow-up of developments in the region in light of the recent events in Iran and Lebanon, indicating Kuwait’s readiness at various levels to deal with these developments.

Al-Yahya referred to the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Rai” to his meeting with the head of the political bureau of the “Hamas” movement, Ismail Haniyeh, before his assassination in Iran, “and he was sitting close to me” during the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian.

The Minister pointed out regarding the Kuwaiti community in the region that “the numbers of Kuwaiti citizens in Lebanon are currently small according to the latest statistics.”

On the other hand, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army denied any truth to the claim “using the lands and bases of the State of Kuwait as a launching pad to target neighboring countries.”

The Kuwaiti General Staff confirmed that it “did not and will not allow its airspace to be used or violated, or for its
territory to be a launching pad for attacks on any of the brotherly or friendly countries.
