Jordanians working in Qatar sent home over $120 million in remittances in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 9 percent from the $110 million recorded in the same period of 2022, according to Qatar-based exchange firms. In interviews with the Jordan News Agency (Petra), they said that the sustained growth of remittances from Jordanian workers in Qatar is indicative of the rising number of the Jordanian community in the Arab Gulf nation. According to recent estimates, the number of Jordanians in Qatar now stands at 70,000 against 60,000 two years ago. Recently, numerous Jordanian enterprises and trade names have been making forays into the Qatari market particularly Doha, including popular cuisine and traditional goods brands, as well as prominent names in the restaurant industry.
