The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed the United Nations Security Council’s adoption of Resolution No. 2735, which supports reaching a comprehensive ceasefire agreement and an exchange deal to ensure the delivery of adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.
The ministry praised the resolution’s rejection of any attempts to impose demographic or geographic changes in the Strip and its reaffirmation of the two-state solution as the pathway to peace.
Sufian Qudah, the ministry’s official spokesperson, emphasized the importance of implementing this resolution, which aligns with international law and the principles of the United Nations. He noted that the resolution represents the international community’s call to end the war on Gaza, ensure the protection of civilians, and deliver consistent humanitarian aid across the Strip.
Qudah underscored the necessity of its provisions, including the return of Palestinian civilians to their homes throughout Gaza and
the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the area.
Qudah highlighted the urgent need for Israel to adhere to international law and humanitarian law and cease its ongoing war against Gaza, which have led to an unprecedented humanitarian crisis since October 7th.
He also reaffirmed the importance of launching a reconstruction process in Gaza within a comprehensive plan to implement the two-state solution. This plan envisions an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security alongside Israel, in accordance with relevant Security Council resolutions and specific, binding guarantees and timetables.
