Jordan, China talk judicial cooperation

President of the Court of Cassation and the Judicial Council Mohammad Ghazo welcomed a Chinese delegation led by Prosecutor-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate Ying Yong. During the Wednesday meeting, Ghazo highlighted the long-standing economic and cultural cooperation between Jordan and China, dating back to the 1970s, commending the keen interest shown by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate in China to establish more bridges of judicial and legal cooperation with the Jordanian public prosecution. He explained that the Judicial Council is eager to benefit from China’s experience in technology and employ AI to manage litigation. Ying expressed his pride in the partnership between China and Jordan, particularly under the leadership of the Hashemite royal family and President Xi Jinping. He emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation in the legal and judicial sectors, given the crucial role of public prosecution in upholding the rule of law. The meeting also tackled the terms of a draft memorandum of understanding for judicial and legal cooperation between Jordanian public prosecution and China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate. At the end of the meeting, the first version of the memorandum was signed, and it will be finalized after both sides complete the official procedures.
