The International Fencing Federation has commended the efforts of the UAE Fencing Federation in the success of the ongoing Veteran Fencing World Championships Dubai 2024, currently being held at Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai, with the participation of 860 male and female athletes from 60 countries, from 11th to 17th October.

El Husseiny stressed that the UAE’s organisation of the World Veterans Championship is not surprising, given its high organisational capabilities, which it has previously demonstrated in numerous fencing events, including t
he 2022 World Junior and Cadet Championships, which were a great success.

He noted that the significant efforts of the UAE Fencing Federation, under the leadership of Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Asian Fencing Federation and President of the UAE and Arab Fencing Federations, reflect the UAE’s value and status on the global fencing map.

For his part, Paolo Azzi considered that the UAE’s hosting of this exceptional edition of the World Championship reaffirms the country’s high capabilities and expertise, whether in logistics, organisational experience, or facilities.
