The Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, the removal of 26 wanted persons on various charges.
A statement by the Intelligence Directorate stated, “The detachments of the Nineveh Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense arrested one of those wanted by the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of terrorism in Nineveh Governorate, which is one of the most prominent goals of the Directorate.”
He added, “the detachments of the Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate, through accurate intelligence information, were able to arrest two dealers and promoters of narcotic substances in the Hamzah Al-Sharqi district of the Diwaniyah governorate,” noting that “the arrest came through an elaborate ambush carried out by the directorate’s detachments in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Division. The necessary measures have been taken against them and they have been referred to the judiciary.
He continued, “The other directorate’s detachments were able to seize two companies in the city center of Diwaniyah, whose owners practice trading in foreign currency and manipulating the exchange rate, contrary to the instructions of the Central Bank, where they were arrested and referred to the competent authorities,” pointing out that “the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate’s detachments were able to seize ( 23) Violators of foreign nationalities in the Armenian Camp region, where they entered the country illegally and were handed over to the concerned authorities.
