INSS seizes two counterfeiting networks in Diyala and Baghdad

The Iraqi National Security Service (INSS) announced the arrest of two forgery networks in Diyala and Baghdad.

The INSS said in a statement, “As part of its ongoing efforts to combat organized crime, The Iraqi National Security Service was able to carry out two qualitative operations against forgery networks in the governorates of Diyala and Baghdad.”

It explained, “The Diyala operation resulted in the arrest of two people involved in forging vehicle license plates,” indicating that” the seized items included 26 forged license plates, as well as forged papers and warranties covering the numbers of all governorates.”

It pointed out that “the Baghdad operation resulted in the arrest of an accused specialized in forging official documents, as the operation was carried out by luring the accused into an ambush, and he was caught red-handed while writing a forged document addressed to one of the ministries,” and he had a group of forged documents in his possession.”
