Heads of Palestinian factions met on Sunday in the city of Al-Alamein in Egypt under chairmanship of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The Cairo-hosted meeting is set to tackle means of regaining inter-Palestinian unity and putting an end to any division in light of the great challenges facing the Palestinian cause, Middle East News Agency (MENA) said today.
Heads of the Palestinian factions and the accompanying delegations participating in the meeting held several meetings yesterday, during which they stressed the importance of strengthening national unity.
They underlined the importance of support for the Palestinian people in the face of the daily attacks by the Israeli forces and settlers on cities, villages and refugee camps, and the violations committed by the occupation government in occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian president had called out for an official meeting for heads of Palestinian factions in Egypt following the latest Israeli aggression against Jenin City, which left 13 Palestinian martyrs and injured more 100 others.
