Foreign Minister discusses Iraq’s role in resolving Syrian crisis with UN envoy by phone

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein received a phone call from the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria Geir Pedersen.

During the call, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry, the situation in Syria was discussed, and views were exchanged on the pivotal role that Iraq can play in order to find a settlement to the Syrian crisis, in light of its balanced relations with All parties.
