FM partakes in 162nd meeting of Arab League Council at ministerial level, 2nd add


2- Urge the International Court of Justice to expeditiously adjudicate on the merits of the case filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel for failing to fulfil its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948, based on the Court’s finding that the Palestinian people are protected by the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, and the non-compliance by Israel, the occupying power, with the interim measures ordered by the Court on 26/1/2024, 28/3/2024 and 24/5/2024.

3- Member States of the League of Arab States and parties to the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide agree to officially intervene to support the case filed by South Africa against Israel before the International Court of Justice for its violation of its obligations under the Convention during Israel’s brutal and ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.

4- Urge the International Criminal Court (ICC) to proceed wit
h the required action by issuing arrest warrants against the leaders of the Israeli occupation, especially in light of the Office of the Prosecutor’s conclusion that there are reasonable grounds to believe that they have committed crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court.

5- Affirming the condemnation of Israel, the occupying power, for committing the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip for more than 11 months, targeting more than 145,000 Palestinian civilians as martyrs, wounded and missing, and strongly condemning the systematic and large-scale Israeli crimes and policies against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank aimed at displacing them from their land, the systematic destruction of Palestinian cities, villages and camps and their infrastructure, as well as Israeli settler terror, the killing and injury of hundreds of Palestinian citizens, demolishing, burning and destroying homes, farms and properties, and arresting thousands of people.
