FM meets with EAPD board


Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty asserted Egypt’s keenness on responding to the urgent needs of the African countries via sending humanitarian aid and contributing to exchanging knowledge and expertise with delegating Egyptian experts and technicians to support the African countries to implement and achieve the sustainable development goals.

This came during Abdelatty’s meeting with the board of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) which contributes to communicating and transferring expertise and knowledge to cadres from friendly countries topped by the African states.

Abdelatty was keen, during the meeting, on discussing development effort exerted by Egypt via the EAPD to help Nile Basin states build and improve the skills of African cadres via scholarships and training courses in cooperation with the different Egyptian bodies in the different domains of priority especially in the fields of health, agriculture, irrigation, electricity, security and com
bating terror, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said on Thursday.

Abdelatty lauded the pivotal role of the EAPD with the countries of the south, Abu Zeid said, adding that several officials from the different African countries appreciated the training courses that work on improving the efficiency of their national cadres.

Abdelatty gave directives to continue co-operation tracks and current projects in addition to seizing new opportunities to push forward joint co-operation with the private sector to implement development projects as a main means to deepen integration among the developing countries.

The meeting comes as part of Abdelatty’s meetings with the sectors and administrations of the Foreign Ministry in addition to the entities and institutions affiliated to it in order to crystallize a clear and comprehensive vision on the steps and priorities of movement in relation to the Egyptian foreign policy and achieving Egypt’s strategic interests and benefiting from all the available tool
s, resources and expertise including the Egyptian manpower.
