FM in Jordan Saturday for Arab ministerial meeting on Gaza, talks with Blinken

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head on Saturday 04/11/2023 to the Jordanian capital, Amman, to participate in a coordination meeting with his counterparts from Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, alongside the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement Friday.

The meeting aims at coordinating efforts to stop the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, put an end to Israeli attacks on Palestinian civilians, and work to secure the immediate and sustainable flow of humanitarian aid to the enclave, he added.

The Arab foreign ministers will then hold talks with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to reaffirm the Arab integrated and unified stance, including the priority of reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, dealing with the deteriorating humanitarian situation, and then beginning to address the root causes of the crisis, which are the continuation of the Israeli occupation and the absence of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause based on the terms of reference of international legitimacy and the vision of the two-state solution, the spokesman said.
