Abu dhabi: The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council has extended the nomination period for the eighth edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Awards until 20th September, instead of 10th September, to allow for more applications to be submitted.
The Awards highlight the remarkable achievements of Emirati and Arab women in sports arenas. Those who have left distinguished impressions in various fields are nominated in nine categories, with total prizes worth AED1.8 million.
The Awards ceremony is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation,
The Awards also enjoy the support and interest of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and President of the Abu Dhabi and
Al Ain Ladies’ Club.
The list of nominees will be announced on 23rd October, and the winners will be honoured at the ceremony on 13th November.
