FAO _The risk of mass famine in Gaza still exists

The Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Communications with Russia, Oleg Kobyakov, announced that the risk of mass famine in the Gaza Strip still exists.

Kobyakov said that these expectations still exist due to the ongoing hostilities that have a negative impact on civilians. We can talk about a large-scale crisis, noting that Gaza is currently one of the hottest famine hotspots in the world, and the United Nations humanitarian agencies are struggling to eliminate it.

The Spanish newspaper “El Pais” reported, quoting employees of the non-governmental organization “Action Against Hunger”, that about 30% of children under the age of two in the Gaza Strip suffer from severe malnutrition.

The “Action Against Hunger” organization also confirmed that the Gaza Strip is threatened by the spread of serious diseases this summer due to garbage waste and high temperatures, which increases the tragedy of the population who are already suffering from food shortages.
