The European Union announced its strong rejection of the burning of the Holy Quran, stressing: “This act does not in any way reflect the views of the EU.”
The European Union stated, according to Al-Jazeera satellite channel: “The burning of the Qur’an or other holy Books is insulting, disrespectful and a clear provocative act,” indicating: “Manifestations of racism, xenophobia and related intolerance have no place in Europe.”
The EU expressed its regret that such an act was carried out during the Muslims’ celebration of Eid al-Adha.
