Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that it is a shame that a genocidaire like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a place under the umbrella of the United Nations.
He added in a press statement today before leaving New York, which he visited to participate in the meetings of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly: “Either the United Nations General Assembly treats this murderer (Netanyahu) in the manner he deserves, or this shameful situation will enter the history of the United Nations as a stain of shame.”
He pointed out that Hitler had a dream and made people live a nightmare, and that the Hitler of this era, “Netanyahu”, will realize sooner or later that this is just a dream and will face the reality.
The Turkish President stressed that Israel is seeking by all means to spread the war in the Palestinian Gaza Strip to the region.
He continued: “Israel is using all means to spread war throughout the region, and we warned about this months ago. The attacks on Lebanon a
re the latest example of this, where more than 600 people were killed. As long as the world remains silent and Western countries continue to supply the Israeli administration with weapons, these massacres will continue.”
He pointed out that Netanyahu’s participation in the UN General Assembly meetings is a betrayal of the memories of children, infants, mothers, fathers, UN officials, journalists and others who were brutally killed in Gaza.
Erdogan added: “Did you notice the position of the Israeli envoy yesterday (Wednesday) after my speech to the General Assembly? His position was very strange. Because he has no means to defend his country. That is why we called and continue to call on everyone to stand on the right side of history.”
He continued: “A regime that cannot distinguish between the oppressed and the oppressor, the murderer and the victim, and cannot give each of them the treatment they deserve, is a regime on the verge of collapse.”
Erdogan stressed that Israel does not respect UN resolutions
and has violated UN principles many times.
Regarding the situation in southern Lebanon, he said: “There is a very tragic situation. Everyone is evacuating the area on horse-drawn carriages. This scene pains us.”
Erdogan described the Israeli attacks on Lebanon as shocking, and pointed out that the Lebanese people are the ones suffering from them.
He continued: “Our region is facing such a harsh and terrible situation. We are talking about Lebanon, which has a population of 6 million. How and where will these people flee?”
He added: “They are hungry in the open and have no clothes. They take blankets and whatever else they find and leave the region. This Lebanon was a different Lebanon during the time of the late Rafik Hariri. It was much richer and stronger.”
He added that Israel sees a dream, and it seems that it is ready to turn the lives of people in the region into a nightmare in order to achieve this dream.
Regarding reforming the United Nations and changing its structure, Erdogan said: “The United
Nations is in a position where it cannot carry out its mission of preventing wars, it cannot force anyone to obey, it cannot even protect its officials, and it cannot hold Israel responsible for the killing of its employees.”
He continued: “The United Nations has become a structure that guards a system in which the strong are right. In the current system, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council can do whatever they want without mercy. The temporary members have no function.
