ABU DHABI: Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, held talks with Sidi Yahya Lemrabet, Mauritania’s Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, to discuss enhancing collaboration in the religious sphere.
During the meeting, held at the authority’s premises in Abu Dhabi, both sides explored ways for deepening their collaboration, exchanging expertise, and sharing knowledge through research. They focused on strengthening the role of religious leaders, such as imams, preachers, and scholars, in promoting a positive and accurate portrayal of Islam.
They emphasised the importance of portraying Islam in a way that highlights its true essence, compassion, mercy, and moral values, stressing the need for continued efforts to demonstrate these principles in today’s world.
