Electricity min., China’s Huawei mull transition to smart grids


Egyptian Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat has discussed with the CEO of China’s Huawei and the CEO of Huawei Egypt Jim Liu and their accompanying delegation ways to cement co-operation in relevant fields.

The Ministry of Electricity said in a statement on Thursday that both sides had a meeting to probe ways for enhancing cooperation in the domain of information technology of smart grids to ensure stable power supply for Huawei corporation.

They also discussed the use of smart devices for detecting manipulation of power consumption, among others.
