Egypt’s Ambassador in Moscow Nazeh el Nagari on Saturday 20/01/2024 discussed with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arms Control and US Affairs the key priorities of Russia during its current presidency of of BRICS 2024.
The meeting comes at the commence of Egypt’s accession to the BRICS.
The Egyptian ambassador reviewed Egypt’s national efforts to effectively and actively engage in various aspects of cooperation with BRICS-member states, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said on its official Facebook page.
Nagari, meanwhile, thanked the Russian side for ensuring a favorable climate for the latest member states of the BRICS regarding the work mechanisms within the bloc, the ministry added.
The meeting tackled frameworks and scope of cooperation in the BRICS, ahead of the upcoming meeting of BRICS, slated for the end of January in Moscow.
They discussed a set of international and regional topics, most notably the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and arms control, according to the Foreign Ministry.
