Egypt urges self-restraint in Sudan

Egypt on Saturday called on all warring parties in Sudan to exercise maximum self-restraint in order to protect people and properties, and to safeguard the country’s national interests.

In a press statement, the Foreign Ministry said Egypt is monitoring, with extreme concern, the ongoing situation in Sudan in the aftermath of clashes between Sudanese army and paramilitary forces.

Clashes and gunfire took place between the Sudanese army and powerful Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum earlier on Saturday.
