Egypt Assistant FM, US Senators Discuss Ways To Bolster Egyptian-American Relations


In a meeting in Cairo on Tuesday 16/7/2024, Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for US Affairs Sameh Aboul-Enein, discussed with a delegation from the US Senate Committee on Armed Services ways to bolster Egyptian-American relations

During the meeting, Aboul-Enein highlighted Egypt’s desire to deepen its strategic partnership with the US and to elevate economic, commercial, cultural, and academic relations, contributing to achieving mutual interests for both countries.

He also outlined key measures Egypt is implementing to enhance its economy, emphasizing that these initiatives are a top priority for the new government at this stage, according to a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry.

According to the statement, both sides also touched up means to address regional issues of mutual concern.

For their part, the US delegation expressed their appreciation for Egypt’s crucial role in maintaining regional security and stability, especially given the current developments in the region.

ended by Eric Trager, member of the US Senate Committee on Armed Services, and Olivia Trusty, member of the US Senate Committee on Armed Services and Minority Leader for Cybersecurity Subcommittee.

Officials from the US embassy in Cairo, including Military Legislative Liaisons Daniel Neff and Brent Lindeman, Political Minister Counselor Nathaniel Turner, and Political Officer Jennifer Whalen, also were present at the meeting.
