The Ministry of Education and Technical Education on Saturday 05/08/2023 announced that the new academic year 2023/2024 will begin on Saturday September 30, 2023 and will end on June 8, 2024 for all the academic stages.
The mid-year vacation of the first semester will start on January 27, 2024, for all public, private, language, and experimental schools.
International schools having a desire to start the academic year earlier, as early as the last week in August, are required to submit a request to the Education Ministry for approval.
The ministry said that the academic year will last for 35 weeks, adding that the second term will begin on February 10, 2024 and ends on June 6, 2024.
It added that Thanaweya Ammma exams will start on June 15, 2024.
The duration of the mid-year vacation will be two weeks between January 27 – February 8, 2024, the ministry added.
