Doma participates in the 12th Annual Conference of Speakers of African National Parliaments in South Africa.


The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, “Misbah Doma”, participated in the opening of the 12th Annual Conference of Speakers of African National Parliaments, which began today, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the African Parliament in the city of Midrand, South Africa.

The conference is held under the theme “African Education for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems to Increase Access to Comprehensive, Lifelong Education in Africa”, with the participation of the Speakers of African National Parliaments, African Union officials, and a number of international and regional organizations, according to the spokesman for the House of Representatives, Abdullah Blihaq.

The 12th Annual Conference of Speakers of African National Parliaments will discuss peace and security in Africa and its impact on continental integration, economic development, food and energy insecurity on the continent, and how national parliaments can contribute to enhancing production and self-sufficiency i
n food and energy, as well as the effectiveness of the institutional arrangements of the African Parliament and how they relate to African national parliaments, in addition to reviewing the statement issued by the previous conference, the measures taken, and the outstanding issues that the African Parliament and national parliaments must implement.

The conference aims to enhance cooperation between national and regional parliaments and the Pan-African Parliament in addressing the challenges facing the continent from a parliamentary perspective and to maintain close coordination between national and regional parliaments and the Pan-African Parliament in unifying positions at the regional and international levels on issues related to Africa as well as highlighting the deteriorating peace and security situation on the continent and harnessing parliamentary diplomacy to ensure lasting peace.
