Ramallah – Ma’an – The Commission for the Affairs of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners published in its report issued today, Thursday, details of what prisoner Majdi Abdel Qader Aweidat (31 years old) from the city of Jericho was subjected to during his arrest by the occupation forces on 05/01/2023, which he was accompanying. A police dog pounced on the prisoner and bit him fiercely on his right foot. As a result, Magdy was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for a day and then to Ofer Prison, where he remained for more than two months to receive treatment, which relied mainly on sedative medications and painkillers. In addition to electrocution sessions until the wound is healed.
The Commission’s lawyer confirmed that, despite the sensitivity of the injured prisoner’s health condition, he was beaten while he was in Ofer Prison more than once after the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip, and he was injured in the head, and he was also severely beaten all over his body during his transfer to Ramon Prison.

Note that Majdi is an administrative detainee, and his detention has been extended 3 times. He is also a former prisoner who spent about three years in the occupation prisons. He is married and the father of two daughters.
