The head of the government of national unity, “Abdul Hamid al-Dabiba,” on Wednesday evening, expressed his grave concern about the news from Niger, which would threaten the stability of the neighboring country.
In a post through the media office of the prime minister, Al-Dabaiba stressed adherence to the principles of the African Union rejecting unconstitutional changes of government, saying: “We join our voice with the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in their call for the return of stability and the restoration of the unity of Nigerien democratic institutions.”
The prime minister called for “an immediate end to these military moves,” which he said “undermine the security and stability of the region, and constitute a source of concern for all neighboring countries and the international community as a whole.”
