Civil society organizations: Stop the systematic torture and killing policies against prisoners

Ramallah Ma’an – Live testimonies of recently released prisoners and what the media reported about the difficult conditions reflect the state of prisons and detention centers, and the suffering of prisoners under direct official instructions from the occupation government that amount to war crimes in continuation of the occupation’s massacres and open war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, and what happened in Al-Mawasi, Shuja’iyya, Rafah, and the Middle and the destruction of the Strip, and what is happening in the West Bank from the implementation of the decisive plan aimed at annexing it and imposing a de facto solution in it and the daily occupation measures of killing, destruction and settler attacks.

In this context, the Palestinian NGO Network renews its call for immediate intervention to work on…

– Saving the lives of prisoners from the ongoing crimes of the occupation, including brutal repression, torture, and violations that undermine human dignity, as well as the threat to their lives, in ligh
t of the statements of Ben Gvir and other officials calling for their killing and seeking to enact a law to execute prisoners. ‘Estimates indicate that at least 58 citizens from the Gaza Strip have been executed after being arrested alive.’

– Pressure international institutions to provide protection for female and male prisoners and send international investigation committees to investigate the violations practiced by the occupying state in the occupied Palestinian territories in particular against prisoners, and demand the implementation of international agreements on the occupied territories.

– Enforce the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law related to the occupied Palestinian territories and work to implement international mechanisms capable of holding the occupying power accountable for its crimes against female and male prisoners, including the forced transfer of citizens, their detention in inhumane conditions, and the crimes committed of harassment, rape, and serious as
saults in the so-called (Sde Teiman) camp in the Negev desert, which are shocking to humanity.

– Strengthening and activating the tools of popular work supporting prisoners and expanding popular participation in various activities and events, whether in rejection of the war of extermination on Gaza or in support of the prisoners’ cause in the various governorates, and developing an integrated work plan to continue and expand its scope.

– At the international level, work to increase the solidarity movement in the various countries of the world, peoples who love justice and peace, solidarity committees, youth and student frameworks, movements, community institutions and parties to highlight the true face of the occupation, highlight the issue of prisoners as an issue of human conscience, work to end their suffering and end the suffering of the Palestinian people, and secure their full legitimate national rights in implementation of international resolutions.
