CAIRO, The Cairo Summit for Peace began on Saturday with an aim to find a solution to the recent military escalation in the region and also addressing the Palestinian cause through a just settlement of the issue.
The summit features the participation of 31 countries, the UN, African Union, and the Arab League.
Kuwait’s delegation is headed by representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The summit’s final communique is expected to call for a ceasefire in Palestinian territories and de-escalating the situation in the region.
It would call for bringing Palestinians and the Israeli occupiers back to the negation table to focus on the two-state solution for the Middle East. (end) mm.gta
