The UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batili, said that the United Nations Support Mission is working with all Libyan parties to reach a comprehensive political agreement on several issues.
In a press briefing he gave following his briefing to the Security Council yesterday and published by the mission today, Batili said that among these issues are unifying the government, securing elections, providing a level playing field for all candidates, and ensuring their safety.
The UN envoy indicated that all the Libyan citizens he met across the country assured him of their desire to hold elections and “bring about change,” saying that the Libyans “crave to make a new dawn of their history.”
