Azm Alliance leader: Kirkuk Arabs are committed to the governor’s position

Member of the Azm Alliance in Kirkuk, Azzam Al-Hamdani, confirmed that “the Arab group that met with the Prime Minister expressed its adherence to the position of Kirkuk Governor because it was able to achieve the majority.”

Al-Hamdani said in a statement that the meeting held by Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani with the Arab group and the winners from the Kirkuk Provincial Council is “a natural reaction to the inability of the parties to the political equation to form the government and name the Kirkuk Governor.”

He stressed that “the Arab group that met with Al-Sudani expressed its adherence to the position of Kirkuk Governor because it was able to achieve a comfortable majority after the Arabs succeeded in managing Kirkuk and achieving security and reconstruction,” indicating that the Prime Minister at the same time conveyed a message to the Arab group that although there should be a national government in Kirkuk in which everyone participates, the policy of exclusion and marginalization of others
will not serve the coexistence in the province.
