Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Monday that the attempted armed rebellion on June 24 have failed thanks to the loyalty of the armed forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry’s website quoted Shoigu in a senior military leaders’ meeting as saying that the armed rebellion aimed to stir up instability in the country but failed thanks to the loyal military forces.
He stressed that the armed rebellion did not affect the progress of the military operations on the front lines in Ukraine, as, according to him, the Ukrainian forces lost more than 2,500 military vehicles during the past month, while the Russian forces intercepted 183 missiles and shot down 386 Ukrainian drones.
Shoigu stressed that the Ukrainian forces did not achieve any progress during the counterattacks they launched a few days ago, saying that Russian forces shot down 15 warplanes, 3 helicopters, and 920 tanks, including 16 Leopard tanks.
