The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of expatriate violators who practice begging.
The Ministry stated in a statement: ‘The Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence was keen to organize the process of entry of expatriates into the country in accordance with the legal frameworks, instructions and laws in force on this subject, in a way that reflects positively on enhancing security stability and societal peace.’
It added: ‘The Civil Status Directorate, in cooperation with the relevant security and intelligence services, carried out a campaign to arrest a group of expatriate violators who practice begging in a number of areas of Baghdad, in a manner that offends and violates the applicable laws
