Member of the Expediency Discernment Council in Iran Mohsen Rezaei confirmed that “Iran will respond to Israel at the appropriate time and place,” stressing that “Israeli attacks will continue if they do not receive an appropriate response.”
Rezaei said in televised statements that “Iran has studied the consequences of the decision to respond and it will be inevitable and will not allow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to get out of his predicament by exploiting regional circumstances,” adding that “Iran’s measures will be studied,” according to the Iranian News Agency – “IRNA.”
Regarding the solution before Iran to prevent the Israeli response from turning into a major war in the region, Rezaei said: “We have studied the consequences of the decision,” stressing that “the only solution to ensure the security of the region lies in the unity of its countries.”
Earlier, Iran reiterated the “necessity of punishing the aggressor for his terrorist act and violation of Iranian national sovereignty,” in r
eference to the response to the assassination of the former head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.
