America considers the process of national reconciliation a vital element to enable Libya to achieve stability.

The US Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, affirmed that the United States considers the national reconciliation process a vital element to enable Libya to achieve the stability and prosperity that the Libyans deserve.

“In this context, we would like to pay tribute to the Libyans who worked with the African Union and the leadership of the Republic of the Congo to hold the first preparatory meeting for the Libyan National Reconciliation Conference on July 20 in Brazzaville,” Norland said in a tweet posted by the US Embassy on its Twitter account today, Wednesday.

The American envoy expressed the hope that the meeting would pave the way for a successful national conference in the future that would allow all Libyans from all walks of life and regions to discuss and resolve important and difficult issues that are very necessary to enable Libya to reach its great potential and to promote stability in the region more broadly.
