Al-Sudani and Abul-Gheit stress the importance of joint Arab action to face challenges

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, met today, Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, at the Arab League’s headquarters, during his two-day visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The meeting dealt with, according to a statement by Al-Sudani’s office, the most prominent issues and developments on the Arab and international arena, stressing the importance of joint Arab action to face challenges, and Iraq’s vital role in the region.

Aboul Gheit praised the important and central role played by Iraq in resolving disputes, calming down, and converging views in the region.

While the Prime Minister said, in a speech written in the record of visits: “Iraq today is taking confident steps towards recovery and stability, and it is heading to play its leading role in the region and the world.

Al-Sudani toured the Arab League’s corridors, and was briefed on the ongoing restoration of the Iraqi wing, which is being carried out with a financial grant provided by Iraq seven years ago.
