Al-Sayeh and Canadian Ambassador to Libya review HNEC latest preparations for elections.

Chairman of High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, discussed, Thursday, with the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard, and her accompanying delegation, HNEC readiness to implement upcoming electoral events.

Ambassador Savard stressed – during the meeting that was held at the office of the HNEC Council in Tripoli, in the presence of the two members of the Council, Rabab Halab” and “Abu Bakr Marada” – her country’s continued support for the efforts of the Electoral Commission in order to achieve free and credible elections, appreciating the efforts of the Commission and the preparations it has taken to implement Electoral processes in accordance with internationally recognized standards and principles.

The visit comes within the framework of the international community’s support for the elections in Libya, to see the Commission’s readiness to implement the upcoming events, and to discuss what support and expertise can be provided in the field of managing and conducting elections.
