MP Muhammad Saadoun Al-Saihoud affirmed that the Swedish government set the worst example of values, principles and standards, and the Islamic world must stop.
Al-Saihoud said in a press statement today that we appeal to the Prime Minister for the decision to expel the Swedish Ambassador from Iraqi territory against the backdrop of the Swedish government giving approval to burn the Iraqi flag and the Noble Qur’an in front of the Iraqi Embassy, stressing that Sweden’s approval is a targeting of Iraq and Islam and an international violation that requires the intervention of the international community to stop this systematic recklessness that is intended to provoke people and undermine Islam and Muslims by a government that is far from the Islamic and human values it claims.
He added that: Iraqi diplomacy must file a lawsuit with the United Nations and the UN Security Council against the Kingdom of Sweden, which is trying to undermine Iraq and its people, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries must hold an urgent conference to stop Sweden’s violations that target Islam and Muslims, especially in this sacred month.
