Al-Koni meets the British Ambassador to Libya.


Tripoli: Deputy of the Presidential Council, “Musa Al-Koni”, met today, Monday, with the UK Ambassador to Libya, “Martin Longden”, who briefed him on his recent visit to the city of Sabha, his meeting with officials and citizens there, and the problems and difficulties that hinder life there at various levels.

The media office of the presidency reported that “Al-Koni” welcomed the ambassador and the interest that the United Kingdom gives to the Libyan file and stressed the importance of southern Libya with its various components as it is the strategic depth of Libya and the source of its wealth.

“Al-Koni” stressed during the meeting the importance of his vision of working with the governorate system, for its ability to achieve justice in the distribution of state resources, to reduce financial and administrative corruption, by providing its services directly to the citizen, and to reduce the burdens on the central government, which will devote itself to its sovereign role.

The office explained that the mee
ting discussed developments in the political scene in Libya, and a number of files, especially illegal immigration and its repercussions on Libya as a transit country, and the countries of the Mediterranean Basin.
